The perfect altitude for a Clark orbit

Quote:
Looking at those figures, I realized that I needed to round off the actual planned final orbital altitude to the nearest hundred. That was as close as most people, and in particular the news media, would ever remember. So I selected 22,300 miles as the figure for the planned altitude, and used that.
[...]
But the perfect altitude for a Clark orbit, it turns out, is 22,238 statute miles above mean sea level.
[...]
That meant I should have rounded off geosynchronous altitude as 22,200 miles, the closest hundred. Using 22,300 miles was a mistake.

By the time I recognized my error, everyone was using the 22,300 mile figure, even engineers and others who were experts in orbital mechanics.
[...]
It's wrong. And it's all my fault.

Rings of Earth

I just realized, that after we build a space elevator, we will eventually build an artificial ring around the earth. We've already started with our geosynchronous satellites. Starting clumps of tethered satellites, it will grow massive, and slowly get populated. It will eventually have its own nervous system and be reactive, to stresses and forces. Initially it will be power stations and computer server farms because of the better access to power, solar power. It will quickly get populated by robots and human maintenance workers that live permanently there. Eventually it will be like a shipping port connecting incoming and outgoing passengers and cargo. In enough time it may become fully populated.
Space elevators will be it's loading docs connecting but instead of connecting the land and sea, this will connect the land and space. With docks you have to move material using small ships, which is where we currently are in space. If we extend this ocean analogy, most ships are literally only good for one trip only because once we get to the beach, the surf tears them apart. So we're not even to the point of good canoes.

V Cast SONG ID

Trying out the "V Cast SONG ID" app on the new Droid X. Been sitting here with the internet and radio seeing how good it is for like the past 2 hours, while I am babysitting some shell scripts. It got all the sorta ASCAP , rock / rap / dance correct. Even country western and jazz. It even got ambient electronica that is little more then just a slowly undulating humm. But Beethoven's 5th it couldn't get, even in it's most recognizable Dun Dundun Duh! *:-O Wow, now that's got to mean something.

Asteroids

I was thinking that the best way to deflect an asteroid impact is to use a second smaller asteroid's gravity, or even an impact.  We need to go up there as start colonizing asteroids, mining them and learning how to steer them, and move them around. We need to do this now, well before it becomes an emergency because then it will be too late to learn and experiment.

I am thinking we could create a fleet of small Earth crossing asteroid and use them like space stations as well as have them available to defend us.

View of the solar system showing the locations of all the asteroids starting in 1980, as asteroids are discovered they are added to the map and highlighted white so you can pick out the new ones.
The final color of an asteroids indicates how closely it comes to the inner solar system.

Earth Crossers are Red
Earth Approachers (Perihelion less than 1.3AU) are Yellow
All Others are Green

Notice now the pattern of discovery follows the Earth around its orbit, most discoveries are made in the region directly opposite the Sun. You'll also notice some clusters of discoveries on the line between Earth and Jupiter, these are the result of surveys looking for Jovian moons. Similar clusters of discoveries can be tied to the other outer planets, but those are not visible in this video.
As the video moves into the mid 1990's we see much higher discovery rates as automated sky scanning systems come online. Most of the surveys are imaging the sky directly opposite the sun and you'll see a region of high discovery rates aligned in this manner.
At the beginning of 2010 a new discovery pattern becomes evident, with discovery zones in a line perpendicular to the Sun-Earth vector. These new observations are the result of the WISE (Widefield Infrared Survey Explorer) which is a space mission that's tasked with imaging the entire sky in infrared wavelengths.
Currently we have observed over half a million minor planets, and the discovery rates snow no sign that we're running out of undiscovered objects.
Orbital elements were taken from the 'astorb.dat' data created by Ted Bowell and associates at http://www.naic.edu/~nolan/astorb.html

Dispersant Corexit + Oil = Toxic soup!

The dispersant BP is using is Corexit.

It's is 38% super-strength neurotoxin 2-butoxyethanol. So far they have sprayed over 600,000 Gallons in to the ocean over the oil spill. (link)

2-Butoxyethanol 111-76-2 30.0 - 60.0
Organic sulfonic acid salt Proprietary 10.0 - 30.0
Propylene Glycol 57-55-6 1.0 - 5.0

Corexit is so toxic, it's banned in Britain.

more on Corexit here: http://www.deepwaterhorizonresponse.com/posted/2931/Cor ...

"SKIN CONTACT : Can cause moderate irritation. Harmful if absorbed through skin.

INGESTION : May be harmful if swallowed. May cause liver and kidney effects and/or damage. There may be irritation to the
gastro-intestinal tract.

INHALATION : Harmful by inhalation. Repeated or prolonged exposure may irritate the respiratory tract.

SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE :
Acute :Excessive exposure may cause central nervous system effects, nausea, vomiting, anesthetic or narcotic effects.
Chronic :Repeated or excessive exposure to butoxyethanol may cause injury to red blood cells (hemolysis), kidney or the liver.

AGGRAVATION OF EXISTING CONDITIONS : Skin contact may aggravate an existing dermatitis condition.
HUMAN HEALTH HAZARDS - CHRONIC :Contains ethylene glycol monobutyl ether (butoxyethanol). Prolonged and/or repeated exposure through inhalation
or extensive skin contact with EGBE may result in damage to the blood and kidneys."

HUMAN HAZARD CHARACTERIZATION : Based on our hazard characterization, the potential human hazard is: High

<< Revelation 16:3 >> And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.

I was never a big believer in the Bible, and reading a line like that always sounded impossible. Till now.

It's really the combination of Oil and Dispersant that are creating it.

EPA May Not Force BP to Change Dispersants

Death of the Oceans!

This is the death of the Oceans as we know it. The Deepwater Horizon well that it spewing incomprehensable amounts of oil. Estimates are 210,000–1,100,000 Gallons daily.

It's a 5 foot diameter pipe with over 70,000 PSI of pressure. To give you some idea of what that's about, This is the same pressures high pressure water cutters that cut steel, concret or just about anything using a small 1 mm stream. A 5 foot stream of oil, filled with abrasive nano-diamonds, powerful enough to cut any materials we have at a water too deep for humans to work in.

It can't be fixed, at best they tried to put a funnel over it and capture it, but that can't work because this oil is full of expanding gasses. These gasses become increasingly cold as it expands increasing the pressure and force of the oil coming out.

"When the oil is removed normally, it comes out at a controlled rate. You can still have abrasive particles in that. Well, now, at this well, its coming out at fairly high velocity," Gouguet continued. "Any erosive grains are abrading the inside of the pipe and all the steel that comes in contact with the liquid. It's essentially sanding away the pipe.

So this has the same effect that a super-volcano has where the volume of material expands explosively.
But it get's worse, It's grinding away the pipe! Once the pipe is gone the hole will grow larger and larger.

it could become a Yellowstone Caldera type event, except from below a mile of sea, with a 1/4-mile opening, with up to 150,000 psi of oil and natural gas behind it, from a reserve nearly as large as the Gulf of Mexico containing trillions of barrels of oil. That would be an Earth extinction event.  (Link)

In addition these oil deplete all of the available oxygen from the water, killing everything in is path.
And releasing massive amounts of Methane in the the air, this is the other green house gas that's 100's of times more dangerous then CO2.

Estimate are that it will take 3 months to drill a relief well. This is so the pressure can be relieve from the broken pipe enough so that we can then fix it.

"Claims are circulating on the Internet that the Coast Guard fears the Deepwater Horizon well has sprung two extra leaks, raising fears that all control over the release of oil at the site will be lost. The oil field, one of the largest ever discovered, could release 50,000 barrels a day into the ocean, with implications for marine life around the globe that are difficult to comprehend. So, considering that losing our oceanic life, with subsequent unraveling of our land-based ecosystems, is a far more possible apocalyptic scenario than a killer asteroid — what do we do about it?"

There is talk of using a nuke to try to collapse the well and stop it, but is could actually make it worse also.

What bothers me the most is how little the press and people seem to appreciate how bad this event can be for the Human Race.

The Candy With The Little Hole

This should make you smile.
You have to love little kids.

The children began to identify the flavors by their color:

Red.....................Cherry
Yellow..................Lemon
Green...................Lime
Orange ...............Orange

Finally the teacher gave them all HONEY lifesavers. None of the children
could identify the taste.

The teacher said, 'I will give you all a clue. It's what your mother may
sometimes call your father.'

One little girl looked up in horror, spit her lifesaver out and yelled, 'Oh
my God! They're ass-holes!

The teacher had to leave the room!

It answer this question, they trick you in to copy and pasting this long string of scrambled Javascript in to your browsers URL windows, thereby running it.

Once there they get you to do this.

CTRL C  - copy
ALT D - Move Focus to URL bar
CTRL V - past and it runs because there is /n at the end.

After inspecting it I figured what the hell and ran it. SO if you get something you'll know what it was.

From there it just seem to hang.

This code is a malicious JavaScript bookmarklet, likely for a Facebook spam or "auto-liker" application.
However, this specific code is broken and will not work. It contains programming errors that will cause it to fail immediately.

Here is a breakdown of what it tries to do and why it fails.

🧐 What It Tries to Do (Its Intent)

The code is "obfuscated" (intentionally scrambled) to hide its purpose. After de-obfuscating it, we can see its goal is to perform actions on a specific Facebook application (with the ID app126063127406590).

The script's intended actions are:

  1. Hide the App: It first tries to hide the application's main wrapper on the page (the element with ID app126063127406590_mwrapper).

  2. Access Your Friends List: It contains a URL to fetch a list of up to 5,000 of your Facebook friends. This is a common tactic for spam scripts, which use the list to tag all your friends in a post.

  3. Post a Status: It finds Facebook's status update elements, including the text area (composer_text_field) and the submit button (composer_submit).

  4. Perform Spam Actions: The ultimate goal is almost certainly to automatically post spam to your profile (and possibly tag your friends) on your behalf, all while hidden.

🛑 Why This Code Is Broken and Fails

This script won't work because it's badly written. It errors out on one of its first steps.

The script tries to run this line of code: c = document.getElementsByTagName("createElement")

This is an error. The programmer likely confused getElementsByTagName (which finds existing elements) with createElement (which creates a new one).

Immediately after, the script tries to call c.setAttribute(...), but c is not a single element; it's a list of elements (an HTMLCollection). This action fails and throws a fatal JavaScript error, stopping the entire script from running any further.

Even if it got past that error, it has other, similar errors later on (like trying to call fs.responseText(...) as if responseText were a function).

⚠️ Security Warning

You should never run unknown, obfuscated code in your browser's address bar or as a bookmarklet.

  • It's a common way to execute a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attack.

  • If the code were functional, it could steal your login information, compromise your account, post spam, or send messages to all your friends without your permission.

Delete this bookmarklet immediately.

😱 Whoa, that's some heavily obfuscated JavaScript code! 🤯
It looks like the code is using a technique called "packing" to compress and obscure the original code. The eval function is used to execute the unpacked code.
After deobfuscating the code, it appears to be a Facebook-related script that interacts with the page's DOM. Here's a high-level summary:
  1. It defines several variables and functions, including a, b, ifc, ifo, mw, and others.
  2. It uses document methods to access and manipulate HTML elements, such as getElementById and appendChild.
  3. It sets up several timeouts using setTimeout to execute functions at specific intervals (e.g., 5000ms, 2000ms, 4000ms, etc.).
  4. The code seems to be interacting with Facebook's Social Graph API, possibly to fetch or update data.
Without more context, it's difficult to provide a more specific explanation. Can you tell me where you encountered this code? 🤔
Also, keep in mind that executing unknown JavaScript code can be a security risk. If you're unsure about the code's origin or purpose, it's best to avoid running it.
how do I de-obfuscate it?
De-obfuscating JavaScript code can be a challenging task, but I'll guide you through the process.
Method 1: Manual De-obfuscation
  1. Identify the packing technique: In this case, the code uses a simple string replacement technique, where the original code is encoded as a string and then unpacked using a function.
  2. Extract the unpacking function: The unpacking function is the code inside the eval statement. Copy it into a separate file or a JavaScript console.
  3. Replace the encoded string: Replace the encoded string (Pe array) with a decoded string. You can use a JavaScript console or a text editor with regex capabilities to replace the encoded characters.
  4. Run the unpacking function: Execute the unpacking function in a JavaScript console or a Node.js environment. This should output the de-obfuscated code.
Method 2: Using Online Tools
  1. Paste the code: Copy the obfuscated code into the de-obfuscator tool.
  2. De-obfuscate: Click the de-obfuscate button or run the tool. The output should be the de-obfuscated code.
Method 3: Using Browser DevTools
  1. Open DevTools: Open the browser's developer tools (e.g., Chrome DevTools).
  2. Create a breakpoint: Set a breakpoint at the eval statement.
  3. Run the code: Execute the code until it hits the breakpoint.
  4. Inspect the decoded string: In the DevTools console, inspect the decoded string (e.g., Pe array).
  5. Copy the de-obfuscated code: Copy the de-obfuscated code from the console.
Keep in mind that some obfuscation techniques may be more complex, and these methods might not work. In such cases, you may need to use more advanced tools or techniques, such as reverse engineering or dynamic analysis.

Electric charges and Asteroids

I was thinking that if many asteroids are loose collections of dust held together by the weak gravity they generate, then there couldn't be much of an electric charge on them or the dust particles would be repelled from like charges.

Could it be that if there were massive dust balls with large electric changes on them then they'd be hollow? Or fluffy sort of the way a kids hair stands up when touching a van de graff generator?

Wouldn't the solar winds almost certainly create large electric charges on anything in space?

Movement for public viewing of bills before being enactied in to law.

I call for a movement where we get our representatives to represent us. I mean i think the rules have been sort of vague up till now how our representatives get presented too us and how they are expected to represent us.

We get very little information on them before they vote. We don't get to officially test and measure there abilities. I guess we just must assume there degrees from 40 years ago are good enough.

But that is not the real point. The point is major bills keep getting run through before the public can read them. Before our commentary's can be heard.

I think for a bill to be legal there should to be a viewing time available where is bill is shared as a plain ASCII text document for x hours or x day before it can be officially signed in to law. This would be to give the general public discuss it before our "representative" can vote on it.

This discussion could be on the Blogs or the media it doesn't matter really.  Instead they talked us to death on the bill were we all just burned out, then rammed something threw.

Same with the Patriot act and many other bill like these Christmas even ones. Now maybe this is political heresy breaking a long history of this sort of thing. But it's just not working any more.

I mean many of our representatives are reachable over e-mail, but there is no reverse channel where we can get information back as fast, one in which we can dictate our opinions to the representative and collectively  review these bills that they don't.

Maybe provide some mechanism where we can assert some leverage on these guys like a financial bonus that we can add or subtract from when they are in agreement with the public votes over the web site. Many one that they political party is in control of such as there budget for the campaign.

Come to think of it we could even make a totally internet based political party, one in which everything is transacted collectively across the net. One in which any party affiliation would allow you to participate. Because your going to want to vote in the real election for someone you helped rise in an internet campaign.

This is how stock markets work!!!

(E-amiled to me by a friend in India, author unknown)

A cold winter!

It was autumn, and the Red Indians asked their New Chief if the winter was going to be cold or mild. Since he was a Red Indian chief in a modern society, he couldn't tell what the weather was going to be.

Nevertheless, to be on the safe side, he replied to his Tribe that the winter was indeed going to be cold and that the members of the village should collect wood to be prepared.

But also being a practical leader, after several days he got an idea. He went to the phone booth, called the National Weather Service and asked 'Is the coming winter going to be cold?' 'It looks like this winter is Going to be quite cold indeed,' the weather man Responded.

So the Chief went back to his people and told them to collect even more Wood. A week later, he called the National Weather Service again. 'Is it going to be a very cold winter?' 'Yes,' the man at National Weather Service again replied, 'It's definitely going to be a very cold winter.'

The Chief again went back to his people and ordered them to collect every scrap of wood they could find. Two weeks later, he called the National Weather Service again. 'Are you absolutely sure that the winter is going to be very cold?' 'Absolutely,' The Man replied. 'It's going to be one of the coldest winters ever.'

'How can you be so sure?' the Chief asked. The weatherman replied, 'The Red Indians are collecting wood like Crazy.'

I bet whale-oil evolved to act as an acoustic medium.

From friend Chris P:
Check out the article below... believe it or not, it's not a joke - it's literally true: NASA lost a lot of satellite data due to a whale oil shortage.

Thinking about it, that oil evolved to act as an acoustic lens medium. I bet that they can focus for different distances, maybe it refractive index varies oddly over audio frequencies. They can appreciate each other physically as partly transparent beings, and selecting on how ones skin reflected.

It probably has all sorts of really interesting properties that we know little about.Like frequency dependency. Maybe even a complex molecule unlike ordinary hydrocarbons. .

Page 1006 “to be enacted within 36 months upon passage”
Page 503 “… medical device surveillance”

me: ok

Friend:  Sounds like prep work for eugenics

me:  Looks like they are really making all the Medical data centrally available. So you can't get any medical work done in secret, it's all known to them.

letter from Nancy Reagan to John Hinckley

We could all learn so much from this elegant and gracious lady. You might recall that John Hinckley was a seriously deranged young man who shot President Reagan in the early 1980's. Hinckley was absolutely obsessed with movie star Jodie Foster, and in his twisted mind, loved Jodie to the point that to make himself well known to her, he attempted to assassinate President Reagan. There is speculation Hinckley may soon be released as having been rehabilitated. Consequently, you will appreciate the following letter from Nancy Reagan to John Hinckley:

To: John Hinckley
From: Mrs. Nancy Reagan

My family and I wanted to drop you a short note to tell you how pleased we are with the great strides you are making in your recovery. In our country's spirit of understanding and forgiveness, we want you to know that we bear no grudge against you for shooting President Reagan. We are fully aware that mental stress and pain could have driven you to such an act of desperation. We're confident that you will soon make a complete recovery and return to your family to join the world again as a healthy and productive man.

Best wishes,
Nancy Reagan & Family

P.S. While you have been incarcerated, Barack Obama has been banging Jodie Foster like a screen door in a tornado. You might want to look into that.

Cattle Guards.

From Hap DeSimone
Just had to share this

Cattle Guards.

For those of you who have never traveled to the West or Southwest, cattle guards are horizontal steel rails placed at fence openings, in dug-out places in the roads adjacent to highways (sometimes across highways), to prevent cattle from crossing over that area. Sometimes they are just painted on the pavement, and not really rails at all. For some reason the cattle  will not step on the "guards," probably because they fear getting their feet caught between the rails.

A few months ago, President Obama received a report that there were over 100,000 cattle guards in Colorado . Because Colorado ranchers had protested his proposed changes in grazing policies, he ordered the Secretary of the Interior to fire half of the guards immediately.

Before the Interior Secretary could respond and presumably straighten him out, Vice-President, Joe Biden, intervened with a request that before any guards were fired, they be given six months of retraining.

Passed on to you without further comment ...

Theory of everything.

Before I go direct to the main point.

I was thinking about gravity waves. What would make the largest signal?
Two or more black holes falling in to each other, collapsing together.  These are singularities of unimaginable masses.
How fast could they rotate? Without friction once they start circling each other they would eventually stale mate and never fall in to each other any further unless there is losses from gravitational drag.

There rotation speeds could be in the trillions of trillions of rpm and doing it with incredible amplitudes.  Essentially vibrating the entire universe.
The only way for these two black holes to fall further into each other they must slow down.
This could be done by emitting waves. After all gravity is the only thing that can escape from a black hole. Any matter fall in on itself would start to rotate creating a vortex held open by centrifugal force.

Now imagine the universe as really a giant vibrating table. With time space being the non-Newtonian fluid the wave is traveling within.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zoTKXXNQIU

Maybe it could be that all matter is self reinforcing patters of material that takes shape because of gravity wave vibrations.
That our perception of the speed of light it the based on the wave length/frequency of these gravity waves.
So is the particle size and life time.

It could be that it's really the vibrations like waves put out in this medium is what creates all particle and matter and governs it's interaction.
In which case the speed of light would be constant over space, but may indeed be varying globally over time depending based on the vibrational field your in.
And that it would be impossible to create small localized fields.

This might explain this whole dark matter and energy.  Why galaxies are shaped the way they are etc.

It could also be possible that each galaxy has it's own universal constants derived from the wave frequency and shapes out out from it's regional black holes.

Anyhow it's just a thought. Maybe totally crazy rantings. So don't take these seriously unless I am proven right in 100 years. ;) After all we now have a million monkeys on a million typewrites, all typing,  blogs. Eventually one will come out with a right answer.
