More about the new Global Currency and the New World Order.

I am putting news reports in chronological order so you can follow what's been happening here. Also trying to keep out the hype and conspiracy.
You will see this is really happening!

It's been very revealing to me, as I hope it will also be too you.

China holds more than $US2trillion ($2.4 trillion) in reserves, most of it in US currency or treasury bonds, and the two sides need to keep the value of the US dollar high.

Society has evolved with religion at it's core

First I want to say that I am not saying what I believe in, my close friends already know, and it's personal and this had nothing to do with what I believe in. I will just go to say that one can not really be a believer in Atheism, GOD, Allah Buddha, Lucifer or what ever you choose with out having studied the rest at least to some level.

I think being an Atheist is all well and fine for some people, if we all were then everything would be just great.  But there are those who believe in following GOD and those who believe in following Satin.

The problem is as the existence of GOD is attacked, I see many starting to openly follow the Satanic path. Many unknowingly even as they are completely ignorant of religion they can't see what's being taught to them!  I also see many who think they are christian also being taught satanism again they are too ignorant of religion to know what they are being taught.

I mean, pretend blood sacrifices in music videos, rams heads, skull and bones and other satanic symbols on kids clothing. They are being taught satanism in mass through the media.   The whole "be kind to your fellow man" and "do on to others" is starting to go out the window! So does concepts of love, honesty and loyalty are replaced with materialism, icon worship, promiscuity and greed.  I see a frightening trend of young people not caring about the lives of others. And in turn there own lives become less valuable.  I think much of this whole economic collapse is because of the lack of ethics stemming from much of this "As long as I get mine" attitude.

They don't realize that by screwing others there is an emergent behavior that happens. With enough people doing it we all get screwed! Every last one of us!

Irrelevant if weather there is or isn't either GOD or satan, the problem is following;  being surrounded by people that don't believe in GOOD is Bad, especially when shit hits the fan.

It's the different between people who help each other in a pinch vs. kill, break and wreck and take what they want.
Who would you rather be around in a crisis, followers of Jesus or Aleister Crowley?

We could be facing helter skelter.

What do you plan to do when these satanist take over and just decide everything opposite of what Jesus taught is just great? Where killing their neighbors off just means more for them, heck it's even fun.

It's at that point where what I believe doesn't matter, it's what they believe that does. Where I'd wish they would have still believed in GOD or at least in GOOD.

Our society has evolved with religion at it's core.
I can't emphasize enough, evolved!
I fear that with the end of GOD and GOOD we are seeing the beginning of things far worse replacing it.

It's the vacuum that's left behind that's the real danger.

The New Global Currency is here!

It's already here, right under our noses and no one here in the US would ever guess the dollar is soon to be gone. That right, better pick up some crisp bills and save them. They soon will be collectors items.

I am not sure how to lay all this out, so I will explain it in the order I have been discovering this.  Sorry but I will leave much as a exercise to the reader to try to understand it all.

First there is Alex Jones and his very "conspiracy theory" style reports, that seem to be all very accurate and verifiable but still hard to believe. I will not even bother linking to this but it's easies enough to google and lots of videos on youtube from him.

Lord Monckton,

Different article:
Obama Poised to Cede US Sovereignty in Copenhagen, Claims British Lord Monckton

When I start reading on the New Global Currency there are 1000's of web sites and news articles.  You would not believe the number of world power brokers all pushing for this to happen, even though it will end US sovereignty.

How is that? Well if we don't control our money, then nothing else really matters. Simple as that!

Henry Ford once said, "It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning."

Did Ford know something we don't?

"Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes it's laws" - Mayer Amschel Bauer Rothschild

He also said, "It (the Central Bank ) gives the National Bank almost complete control of national finance. The few who understand the system will either be so interested in its profits, or so dependent on its favors, that there will be no opposition from that class... The great body of the people, mentally incapable of comprehending, will bear its burden without complaint, and perhaps without even suspecting that the system is inimical (contrary) to their interests."

frickin' laser beams

From: Slashdot
Laser Weapon Shoots Down Airplanes In Test
airshowfan writes"Boeing's directed-energy weapons (a.k.a. frickin' laser beams) have been getting some attention lately. The Advanced Tactical Laser (ATL) is a C-130 that famously burned a hole through a car's hood, and the YAL-1 AirBorne Laser is a 747 that shoots a laser from its nose that is powerful enough to bring down an ICBM. But even cooler is the Mobile Active Targeting Resource for Integrated eXperiments (MATRIX), a laser that is mounted on a truck (which probably costs less than a 747, but who knows) and that can shoot down small aircraft, as shown in the picture on this article. (The Laser Avenger supposedly also has this capability). We live in the future!"

The Apple, part 1. As Sci-Fi Story by John L. Sokol

The big apple, that's what they used to call it, but I never understood why.

It was my first day on the job. I have my new uniform if you can call it that, a dingy orange jump suit and florescent reflectors like out of the 80's pop group DIVO. I pull the truck over, I hear the back open and the crew begins loading. I can't believe this old crappy truck is still on the road, it's engine groans like the old Prius hybrids every time I try to accelerate. It's got to be almost 60 years old by now and once it might have been considered a small truck. Now it towers over everything, twice the width of everything on the road. The only reason it's still in use is because it belongs to the city and they are too cheap to replace it I guess. It engine had been replaced years back and had been converted to electric when they stopped selling gas here, before, the rest of the country did. In doing so the streets are now like death traps with 600 volt rails jutting out all over the roads that are constantly replenishing the caps. It's amazing how few problems they have with it. You'd think people would be getting fried all the time, but nobody walks the street these days, not even to cross it.

I really should have used the restroom before I started driving. On the street in Manhattan there are no restrooms. The entrance to main office I which just left from is only a few feet away from the other end of the block.  Technically I am still  in the building.  I stared at it's concrete, looming overhead, like being under a bridge.   I'm sure I can just run over, while the work crew is loading, and be back in 5 minutes, before anyone even notices.

I open the door to face the traffic, I can remember what this used to be like in my youth when you'd get hit in the face with the familiar, almost comforting smell of petroleum exhaust and the blare of car horns. I actually miss it. Now the whole road is like an ocean of little robotic bumper cars silent. Nobody is even paying any attention since the cars drive themselves now, occasionally brushing against the rails for power. I remember when the Smart car first came out and how odd they seemed at the time; now there is nothing but. Everyone is oblivious, sitting in little half width toy cars, with the exception of this one old truck as far as the eye can see.

“Hey where are you going”, shouted another DWP worker sitting in his little orange toy car stopped in front of me. I reply, “I need to use the rest room!”. “You sure?!”, “Yes, I really need to go”; “Christ”, He waves me over, and I jump in. Moments later a path opens amongst the cars crossing ahead of us. Some invisible traffic light had signaled and seven lanes of traffic wide stopped and opened up, like the parting of the red sea. We cut across and were silently zipping down the street. We stop at the end of the block and I start to step out, he yells “You better get back there quick”. Before I could reply he was gone. I run up the stairs through a set of double doors and dive in to the men's room.

Finally at peace, I step out and take a deep breath, and as I walk past the front desk I hear, “Hey, where are you supposed to be? Is that your truck out there?”. Stunned, “yea, but--” , “What the fuck!” he grabs me by the wrist, “Your in a real load of shit now! Come on”, we run back down the stairs, among the toy cars packed bumper to bumper, is another orange car that's empty. He jumps over the 2 inch rail in the middle of this part of the road and hops in the car. I try to follow, when one of the cars lurches forward and rams the back of my ankle. “agh!”, I fall almost hitting that rail, bloodying my knee and catching myself on the car next to ours. All of the cars lurch forward again, “Shit!” still holding the car in front of me that is now dragging me along. This is it, I have been on the job maybe 30 minutes and it's over for me, the 600 volt rail is only inches from me, when I feel my arm getting grabbed and I come crashing inside the passenger seat. “Holy cow, grandpa! You ain't from around here are you? Ed or you can call me Eddy.” We glide down the street silently back to where I parked the truck. There's a whole crowd of guys in there orange suits. Eddy says “ I'd hate to be in your shoes.” I can see there is already a tow truck angling towards us up the side street, I get out, “Thanks”. He jumps out too and the car speeds off.

“Where the hell were you!, Get this truck outta here!” There is already a second truck behind mine and because of the way the curb rolls in one of the halve width lanes is blocked forcing a stream of cars to have to merge around. Traffic is a mess.

Eddy puts his hands up, “Hey guys give him a break it's is first day”. I hear someone yell, “Hey get some depends grandpa!” While Eddy's distracting him I jump in and make my get away. “Whew!”. What else can go wrong today.

----

“Turn right ahead” I look down seeing the blinking map, the springs in the seat cushion are digging in to me. The little robotic cars wiz past me, I have found it's best to drive slow and let them navigate around me. They don't really seem to give me any breaks, not that this is unusual. I had driven here last, gee, I can't even remember, must be over 30 years ago, but this was the norm even back then. Still without people driving, they don't sound horns, I could just plow over one of these cars and would never even know it. I bet that would get the passengers attention. “Turn right ahead” I have no idea where I am at. I think I used to live down one of these streets, I think this is around where canal street was. Nothing is labeled any more. They didn't remove the street signs, just never bothered keeping them up. No body drives their cars here any more. I am not sure it's even legal for non-government people within the city limits.

“Your destination is to the left”, ahead is a dingy garage with another familiar orange jump suite waiting in front. I turn to pull in. “Whoa, back in, we need to unload”.

“So I heard you're having a shitty day.”, I can here some of the other guys in the back chuckling at this. “Not cool, Not cool, the boss wants to see you right now.” Before I could answer, another orange car had silently sneaked up. “Chop! Chop! Old man, wake up! Car's waiting. Why aren't you taking your calls?”. I reply “What?, I don't even have a phone”. “Is this your first day on the job or something?”, “Yea” I reply, “Well just get back, don't try to argue, just kiss ass. You'll probably be OK. Not a lot of people around that still know how to drive.”

“Ding, Ding, Ding” the little orange car is now making a chiming sound waiting for me, getting louder and louder impatiently. This is terrible. I just wish I was back in California or Bangalore or any of the other places I had lived where the world seemed to make some sort of sense. I haven't had a chance to catch my breath once today. The car whooshes off, weaving, ducking and dodging at a frightening pace. It reminds me of my first time in India. I couldn't believe how many close calls we almost had taking the little rickshaw there, and my kids who where young at the time screaming then laughing hysterically as we almost plowed over an old woman crossing the street, her pink saree suddenly filling the windshield in front of us. She didn't even notice that we went from 30 mph to a complete stop about 2 inches from her in the blink of and eye, but this is the norm there. Eventually you get used to it, but even the rickshaws weren't as frantic as this car. The car lurched hard, my already sore bloody knee jammed against the console as we race past another truck like the one I had just driven, narrowly missing, “Yikes!” I can feel the hair on the back of my neck rise. I can see the drivers eyes pop open wide as my car shot passed. I know exactly what she's feeling, I wonder if it's her first day too and what screwed up predicament brought her to this situation. Was it as bad as my own?

Clifton, NJ - What happened to Lori Mc Kinney?

This is all I was able to dig up on the internet about what happened. If anyone has more please send it to me and I will post it here.

I really cared about her, she was a good friend and is missed.

-----------
From some newpaper:

In July 1993, Lori McKinney was found dead on a beach. John J. Pepe Jr. was eventually convicted of reckless manslaughter.

"When he came to us, he had three different stories from other murders all rolled into one," Swearingen said. "It didn't take us long to put a case together against him and figure out what happened."

The bar the couple had been to earlier that night is now closed. The places that serve alcohol that remain are primarily restaurants, which occasionally generate noise complaints.

Lori McKinney of Wayne was very much in love with her boyfriend back home, her friends say.
That's why they can't believe she left an Ocean County bar early Saturday morning with another man.
The decision to leave with him, authorities say, turned out to be a deadly mistake.

Pepe luncheon leaves bad taste
Dear Editor:
We all use the expression "I've heard it all," but never has it held so much meaning as now when we read of a fundraiser to show support for. the convicted killer, John Pepe of Lyndhurst. People paying $50 a. plate for this man is one of the sickest things I've ever heard of Thank goodness the management at the Fiesta had the good sense and the courage to stop it when they realized who the benefit was for. The Pepe family friend who was organizing this absurdity is a Lyndhurst resident named Pat DeSimone. She had, been very busy planning "the party" and calling all the newspapers to tell them about it. Someone, please, take the $50 they're charging for the lunch and buy this woman a clue!! Besides her obvious poor judgment, DeSimone clearly has a warped sense of justice and too much time on her hands. I suggest that DeSimone take some of her idle time and put her organizational skills and fund raising abilities to good use and help t some truly needy individuals and organizations — there are plenty of them.  It is irritating and ridiculous to hear DeSimone describe Pepe as "a boy that has never been in any trouble. In our opinion, this was an accident. We still feel John is innocent." Someone heeds to tell DeSimone that, in fact, John Pepe is not "a boy" but a 220 lb. grown man and even if he has never been in any "trouble" before, causing the death of another human being is more "trouble" than most of us will ever have. Furthermore, Mr. Pepe is NOT innocent; a jury convicted; him of manslaughter. He is responsible for the death of Lori McKinney. John Pepe strangled her McKinncy's neck muscles were bruised and her eyelids had hemorrhaged. DeSiitione is also quoted as saying, "the family suffered quite a bit of legal fees, I thought they could use some help."  Does DeSimone realize that John Pepe is NOT the victim? Docs she realize that this is not Some Hollywood movie where the innocent child of a poor unemployed single parent is unjustly accused of some crime and the parent spends every last dime to clear the kid's name? In reality, (his family was in a better position financially than most of us. What's been made public about this family is that the father owns a construction company and, at the time of the manslaughter, the family owned a nice Lyndhurst home as well as two additional homes in the upper middle class beach community of Laval letie. Furthermore, their convicted son; John; had just completed his education at Colby College in Maine where tuition, room and board totals a whopping $25,420 a year! A benefit luncheon for this convicted killer? It's enough to make all of us lose our appetites for the rest of our lives.

interesting development in European thinking

The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility. As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5-year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English".

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter. There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.

My new house disaster.

From An E-mail Dated Wed, Jul 16, 2008 at 3:46 PM

Data from
http://www.melissadata.com/lists/ezlists/ezHomeowners.aspx?zip=91763

I bought for $210K in June 2003,   The house originally was had at a HUD auction for $150K around  Dec 01.

For Photo's of when I just bought it.

I really wanted to sell  after our return from India August 2006.   Look at house trading volumes, barely any homes are selling now.

Well after pouring some $35K in to new windows, upgrading the electricity and adding central air and building a work shed in the back, I have lost it.
Worst part is I worked so hard to pay down all my debts, running all over from Orange County to Santa Barbara to find work to pay the mortgage. Ultimately end up unemployed and unable to pay the mortgage, Couldn't find any renters, or buyers. Unable to live there because it's too far from any tech companies to work for.   And just too damn hot to even go out for a walk or try to get any programming done while there.

Now, THIS is really fascinating - I’ve never really thought of it in these magnitudes, but it’s rather dazzling to see it presented this way.

I certainly thought this was enlightening. Didn’t even realize we knew much beyond our sun ….

It’s a big universe.

Antares is the 15th brightest star in the sky.
It is more than 1000 light years away.

The universe humbles us.

And to think that each of us is but one person (out of a few billion) on earth.

Calling for new investigation on 9/11

Former NASA engineering executive Dwain Deets is giving the talk below.

Masters Degrees in both Physics and Engineering. He was an engineer with NASA for 37 years where he was Director of Research Engineering and then later Director of Aerospace Projects. Dwain is a member of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, and he serves as part of its core team. He is listed under Senior Federal Engineers and Scientist at PatriotsQuestion911.com.

A little background on who Dwain is:

Dwain Deets, MS, former Director, Aerospace Projects at NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center, wrote "The many visual images (massive structural members being hurled horizontally, huge pyroclastic clouds, etc.) leave no doubt in my mind explosives were involved [in the destruction of the World Trade Center]."

Mr. Deets also is the recipient of the NASA Exceptional Service Award and the Presidential Meritorious Rank Award in the Senior Executive Service (1988).He served at NASA for 37 years.

I ran across this video, it's on the left of the page you can blow it up to full size.
It's 2.5 Hrs long and bad video quality, but still an excellent talk.

NASA Engineer to Speak on Destruction of WTC Buildings

Encinitas resident a leader among 900 architects and engineers

San Diego - On Wednesday, October 21, 2009, former NASA engineering executive Dwain Deets, will speak on behalf of more than 900 architects and engineers who cite evidence of explosive demolition at all three World Trade Center high-rises on 9/11 and are calling for a new, independent investigation into their destruction.

Mr. Deets’ multimedia presentation will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice, on the campus of University of San Diego, 5998 Alcalá Park, San Diego, CA 92110. The event will conclude at 3:00 p.m.

An engineer with NASA Dryden Flight Research Center for more than 37 years, Mr. Deets is a board member and the writing team leader for Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth (AE911Truth). Comprised of more than 900 architects and engineers listed on their website at http://www.facebook.com/l/58499;AE911Truth.org, the organization contends that the official FEMA and NIST reports fail, for several reasons, to explain correctly the towers’ destruction. AE911Truth points in particular to the destruction of the third high-rise, World Trade Center 7, which was not hit by a plane but came down in less than seven seconds. These 900 architects and engineers have signed a petition calling for a new investigation.

Mr. Deets will include in his presentation an abridged version of 9/11: Blueprint for Truth, featuring Richard Gage, AIA, a San Francisco Bay area architect of 20 years, the founder and CEO of AE911Truth, and a member of the American Institute of Architects.

The organization’s conclusions are shared by hundreds of scientists; senior-level military, intelligence, and government officials; firefighters; pilots and aviation professionals; scholars and university professors; 9/11 survivors and family members; and media professionals around the world.

In 1986, Mr. Deets was awarded the Wright Brothers Lectureship in Aeronautics by the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics. He became aware of the many problems with the official reports concerning 9/11, and began speaking publicly on this topic in 2007. He and his wife have been residents of Encinitas for the past six years.

This event is sponsored by the Toreros for Truth, a University of San Diego club with a purpose to promote, and in part to provide, the best in investigative reporting, scholarly research and public education regarding the suppressed realities of September 11th, its aftermath and exploitation for political ends.

Please forward this Press Release to any group or individual you think might be interested- this is a free event and open to the public.

Is there a true "intelligence" in the evolution process?

John L. Sokol - Ok, this has to make you wonder about evolution being just a purely mechanical process. I argue that there is a true "intelligence" in the evolution process itself. One that is so large and powerful that we can't even grasp it's scope and implications.

Could Saturn rings act like a gravity wave recorder?

Read this:
http://www.scientificamerican.com/blog/post.cfm?id=what-caused-saturn-to-lurch-second-2009-10-08

What if Saturn rings are acting like a gravity wave recorder?

Have you ever seen the demonstration where they take a double cylinder with glycerin infused in between the two sides. A drop of ink was injected into the glycerin and rotated. The ink disappears. Upon rotation to its previous position the ink reappears.

Well I'd bet Saturn rings could do that, not sure how far back we could go?
We would have to use the computer to rewind them assuming we had a photo with enough resolution of those rings.

Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune also have rings that we could get multiple read recordings of events from several locations. Like Seismographs at several sites, we could tell direction of these waves, speed, frequency's, amplitude, rate of decay.

Assuming that maybe the wavelengths for gravity waves could way longer then were we have been looking so far.

Do you remember what it was like to live before the internet?

Just ran across something I posted some time ago, on Charlie's Diary

"Do you remember what it was like to live before the internet, or mobile phones, or compact discs, or walkmen?"
I reflect on this thought, I was born in 1967.
To be honest, I really haven't seen almost anything change that I hadn't been directly involved with since I was about 7.
I mean computers have gotten faster and so has networking, but few other things really.
At 7 (1974) I had stolen Cable TV from the Neighbors and eventually got in a lot of trouble for it when I mom saw lots of my friends coming over to watch TV. We could never have afforded cable ourselves.
Built my first computer from scratch. I had a ton of reel to reel, record players, cassette and 8 track players that I gathered from the trash and repaired and sold. Also no shortage of broken Color TV's. Every TV I ever owned was savaged and repaired.
Had an LED based digital Watch from some holiday too. That was cool, since I could look around under the covers with the RED led light. I guess it would tell time too.
And by in large the most significant thing was watching the Twin Towers get erected from my kitchen window every day. But this is now gone.
Since then, by age 12 I had machined a 2 stroke engine from scratch and made a crude moped.
I had contracts programming Tandy model II and III computers for North Jersey Buick dealerships to help there salesmen provide a printout to customers with all of the cars features and a price encoded so the sales guys would know there price. At that point I had also been fixing broken CB radios for people and had acquired some from that.
Had built my own modem from scratch, and a number of telephone based gadgets.
At 14, (1981) I started making digital samplers and music synthesizers for what would be come some of the earliest Rap/hip hop/house and techno music in New York City. Based on TRS80's ,Commodore PET's and 64's.
By 16 I had acquired a CD player (1983) about 2 years before they came out in 1985.
There were no discs available and the Italians that had come across this secret Japanese technology brought it to me because they didn't know what to make of it when they inadvertently came in possession of a shipping container full of the players, I am sure they were hoping for Walkman or something they could sell.
I remember the joke was "it fell of the back of a ship *cough* " I am sure Sony is still wondering where that container went. Ironically if there weren't so protective of it and drew attention, they wouldn't have lost it.
At that point my life was mostly trying to hack government computers to get on the "NET" , crack long distance codes, and find ways to play games with the phone companies, credit cards, and credit bureaus (AKA Bastards).
We also had a packet based radio network amongst my friends and ran one of the largest BBS's on the east coast with 64 floppy drives connected to one TRS80 model III.
Also at 16 (1983) I did much of the heavy lifting to build a TV Studio and set up Public Access Channel V in Clifton New Jersey with grants from the local Cable TV provider, we had taken over 1/3 of the schools library to do this.
And at 17 while a high school senior was officially an employee of the board of education and still a student.
At this time we had finally finished downloading a pirated version of Unix Source code at 300 Baud and began a 5 year attempt to make that code run on PC's.
At 19/20 (1987) I was working at Stanford doing cancer research, where I first had legitimate access to the Internet at 10 Mbps. At this point I had uncompressed streaming audio and video across there campus network, and started selling the first commercial sound product for PC's the audio byte.
Come 1992 I posted 386BSD on to the Internet the first complete Open Source OS. It had been running for almost 4 years but the team at Berkeley was not publishing it. So when they decided to back out I took matters in to my own hands. The Internet has never been the same since being that was also the first clean source code for a TCP/IP stack, FTP, TELNET, DNS, and a whole mess of other Internet services.
So for me it's always seemed like this stuff is moving really slowly. I am constantly pounding to move these things forward in the right direction and overcome resistance.
The only thing I really appreciate is the improvements from Moores law.
The one technology that changed my life was Surface mount electronics and FPGA that have rendered much of my electronics skills useless.
Since for almost all of my work was done on close to zero cash, and FPGA's and surface mounts cost a lot of money to work with I have hit a wall there.
As such I have been relegated to software and also the push for GPL Linux because again, there is a lot of forces also trying to raise the cost of programming. Like M$, Adobe, Java, IBM, who's wonderful tools make it too expensive to the non cooperate no college types.
So I guess the few changes that have really effected my life has been negative.
Even the explosion of Internet technology was like me and my buddies had a private beach we loved to hang out on and suddenly it was open to a hoard of idiots that came in and trashed the place.
Leaving SPAM and garbage everywhere. Thank god for GOOGLE!
So here I sit some 33 years later doing almost the same thing, back hurts more now, but for the most part technology had only served to limit my options, and now days it's not nearly as easy to work around.
I can no longer fix my car, or build my own electronics or network and make calls without everything being monitored. I can't even Intercept the HDMI video going into my TV because it's all encrypted.
So where is the upside here? I guess I am a High Tech Luddite.

The evolution of GOD

This once again tells me I am right in believing there is an evolutionary advantage to believing in GOD. No matter how odd it may seam. This also does nothing to indicate weather there is or isn't one, just that We HUMAN seem do better when we believe in something.

Personally I think GOD get's a bad rap for the misdeeds of religions.

there's 300 times as much water as there is air

Ran across this on Slashdot by RobVB (1566105) It's just too interesting to let pass by.

The total mass of the oceans [hypertextbook.com] is about 1.4*10^21 kg. The total mass of the atmosphere [hypertextbook.com] is about 5*10^18 kg. That means the oceans weigh about 300 times as much as the atmosphere.

The heat capacity of water [npl.co.uk] is about 4000 J * kg ^ -1 * K ^ -1. The heat capacity of air [engineeringtoolbox.com] is about 1 kJ * kg ^ -1 * K ^ -1, or about 1000 J * kg ^ -1 * K ^ -1.

So since there's 300 times as much water as there is air, and the heat capacity of water is 4 times larger, heating up the atmosphere by 1200 degree Celsius would take the same amount of energy as heating up the oceans by 1 degree Celsius. This may not prove or disprove your point, I just started thinking about numbers when you said "raising the temperature of a body of water by a few degrees".

Santa Barbara / Goleta Beach Wild Life.

Lately I have been taking very long walks some 6 hr or more along the Coal Oil Point Reserve, in Goleta, just north of Santa Barbara, Isla Vista (IV) and the UCSB campus. You can break off pieces of rock from the cliff face where you can see and smell the trapped crude oil.

Oil and tar is all over the sand and occurs naturally here. It a real problem when walking barefoot. In some spots oil is actually dripping off the rock faces and accumulates in patches of hardend sun baked tar. On hot days the whole area wreaks of hydrocarbons that have seeped up and are now evaporating off their lighter components, leaving behind tarry blobs.

Somehow even with all this, the area full a wide array of wildlife that has adapted. Small sharks, seals, sea lions, and more variety of wild birds then I can name. Every evening the humans gather along the sea cliffs and watch the sun set, and during the day surfers slosh back and forth in the fridged surf wearing black wet suits.

Sea Anemone on rocks at low tide 9/19/09

Beach Hoppers, live mostly on washed up sea weed, and the staple food of the endangered snowy plovers.

I went walking on the beach late one night armed with nothing but a VU Led flashlight hoping to finding some interesting florescent rocks. Talk about creeped out, I was 20 minutes down the beach from the stairs. On one side the sea cliff and the other the ocean, walking along in the dark the moon rose. The whole beach started squirming then I began feeling things banging and crawling up my legs and falling in to my shoes and getting squished.
It was a long walk to the stairs before I could make it off the beach. Nothing is worse then the unknown, I had no idea what they were if the bite or what. With the UV light they looked white and were wet and slimy and felt like slugs. Once home with proper light they are like land shrimp, some as long as an inch in length and could jump at good 20 inches in to the air.

Livecam was the very first anything streaming video on the internet. And real audio had the first streaming audio. White Pine had the first web chat. All around 1993.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pseudo.com  mid 1993,

I was in NYC with Lucy at the time and helped a few teeny ISP get started like Escape.com  while working for Fujistu on getting them up to speed on the internet.
Most ISP's then were little more then a T1 and some web servers and modems in some guys bed room.

The Pseudo channel on Prodigy   (fuck no wonder no one ever hear of him, only lame idiots used prodigy) That is not the internet!

Bankruptcy and closed operations in September 2000.[2] In 2001, its remaining assets were purchased by INTV

---------------------------

On the 40th anniversary of the Internet, WE LIVE IN PUBLIC tells the story of the effect the web is having on our society as seen through the eyes of "the greatest Internet pioneer you've never heard of", visionary Josh Harris. Award-winning director, Ondi Timoner ("DIG!"), documented his tumultuous life for more than a decade, to create a riveting, cautionary tale of what to expect as the virtual world inevitably takes control of our lives. Josh Harris, often called the "Warhol of the Web" through the infamous dot.com boom of the 1990's, founded Pseudo.com, the first Internet television network and created his vision of the future, an underground bunker in NYC where 100 people lived together on camera for 30 days over the millennium. He proved how in the not-so-distant future of life online, we will willingly trade our privacy for the connection and recognition we all deeply desire. Through his experiments, including a six-month stint living under 24-hour live surveillance online which led him to mental collapse, he demonstrated the price we will all pay for living in public.
---------------------

We Live in Public is the story of the Internets revolutionary impact on human interaction as told through the eyes of Internet pioneer and visionary, Josh Harris. Though once considered the godfather of the downtown Internet scene in NYC in the 90s, known far and wide for his outrageous parties, innovations in chat, streaming audio and the creation of the first online television network, Harris is but a footnote in history at this point all because he took his experiments with the Internet and media consumption too far. Award-winning filmmaker, Ondi Timoner, has been documenting his incredible experiments, and his ups and downs, for over a decade from puppeteer to puppet, from millionaire to exiled and broke. Timoner sets out with We Live in Public to tell the story of yet another walking cautionary tale in Josh Harris who, as Anton Newcombe did for artists everywhere in DIG!, will inevitably shake us all to the core about what the future brings for all of us as we increasingly live, work and love through media and technology.

The film charts the rise and fall of the man who, as far back as the early 1990s, predicted a future dominated by life online, where people will be actively willing to reveal all aspects of their private lives as significance and fame become more accessible, only to find themselves trapped in virtual boxes. Josh Harris foresaw online social networks like MySpace, Facebook, and YouTube, and created the companies that serve as the direct predecessors to these fabulously successful ventures. But as Josh says, "The first guy gets the arrow, the second guy gets the castle.

Founder of the first Internet market research company (Jupiter Communications), and the first Internet-based television network (Pseudo.com), Josh Harris told his brother, I have to do this, or someone else will do it first. It didnt matter that less than 1% of the population had broadband when he unveiled Pseudo, so very few people could watch his 10 channels online. It mattered to him that he did it, and showed anyone who was watching, the future. Called by many the Warhol of the Web, Josh has spent his life coming to terms with his vision of the future and how media and technology affects social interaction and the development of personal identity.

How Harris became a media casualty provides the emotional core of our story. The youngest child of seven, and neglected by his parents, Harris was a lonely child, nurtured, as he says, on the electronic calories of television. He claims to have been raised by the tube and found his spiritual family in Gilligans Island. After several successful business ventures in the first dotcom boom, Harris set out to make up for his lonesome childhood by surrounding himself with people and cameras, creating his own island.

Theories that first made Harris a wealthy and successful Internet pioneer during the dotcom boom of the mid-90s are the same ideas that eventually drove him towards a mental collapse. Harris continued to place himself and the people around him in the middle of a not-so-distant future where he believed we will all want to live in public, using the media and technology to publicize our lives and create our virtual selves. He created an underground bunker in the heart of NYC at the turn of the Millennium and had over 100 people move into his living human Petri dish an artificial society where they lived in pods, each with their own surveillance camera and channel in a closed circuit network, and subjected themselves to artillery training and interrogations in order to be on camera. It was busted by FEMA as a Millennial Cult on January 1st 2000, where upon, Harris decided to take the experiment a step farther

This time, he was the guinea pig. He had his loft rigged with 32 motion-controlled surveillance cameras from the toilet to the bedroom, and announced weliveinpublic.com A live, 24/7 look into the lives of Harris and his girlfriend, Tanya. They set out to broadcast every aspect of their lives for six months, and even hopefully to conceive in public! The experiment backfired as the chatters began to control the Harris life, resulting in the deterioration of his personal relationship as well as his mental state. After having lived under complete surveillance while losing the majority of his money in the dotcom crash as well as his mind, Harris fled into seclusion on an apple farm in upstate New York for the next five years. He cut himself off from all the media and fame he had been obsessed with, to shed the electronic calories hed been consuming through that media his whole life - and find himself.

During his exile, Harris visionary predictions about technology and online social networking were manifesting in companies like Friendster, and then MySpace and Facebook, among others.

Harris returned to the tech world with his newest creation "Operator 11, an online streaming video hub where users could create and broadcast their own content never found an audience. This time he was too late. YouTube had already cornered the market with its slogan broadcast yourself.

Having sunk the remainder of his money into Operator 11, Josh Harris was now broke. With no money and the burning desire to finally prove himself as the greatest artist of the 21st century, Harris vanished to Ethiopia while the world he so succinctly predicted blows up around him.

Sundance Award-Winning director Ondi Timoner and Interloper Films have been chronicling Harriss story since his peak in 1999. As with Timoners previous films DIG! and JOIN US, We Live In Public takes us deep underground into a world we would never otherwise have access to. Told through visually-stimulating vérité footage woven into a dramatic narrative, the film then takes the power of documentary cinema one step further thanks to Harriss obsession with constantly documenting himself and the world around him. We are currently crafting an exciting hour and a half adventure out of the 3-4000 hours of footage accumulated for the project over the last ten years. The result will without doubt be a visceral ride through our recent history, back to a time not so long ago when life was markedly different for most all of us, before the decade between web 1.0 and web 2.0, before the greatest invention of our lifetime had taken hold of our lives, and according to Harris - were only seeing the smoke on the horizon.

Windmill Efficiency.

I have been searching for articles on making efficient wind mills.

This seems like a really obvious thing, but apparently no one is doing this right!

Some articles below show this.

http://nov55.com/wdm.html
http://www.energyadvocate.com/fw91.htm
http://www.appropedia.org/Savonius_rotor

This seems like a perfect problem to put to a genetic algorithm search.
If I could find a good simulation code, then many different designs not just of blade shape but orientations, configuration. Both horizontal and vertical can be simulated and tested quickly.

I am definably seeing a trend where very old wind mill designs are cheaper easier and more efficient then these modern high tech mega windmills.

Where modern windmills seem skewed towards large construction projects.

It would seem something is broken in the wind industry.

Some additional interesting articles:

A few more ideas.
  • You know about shark skin has dimples that reduce drag, Using these in water pipes, ship hulls and propellers should make these more efficient.

Its dermal denticles decrease drag and turbulence by directing water flow over the body, which allows surrounding water to pass over the shark more effectively. SPEEDO Introduces Fastskin -- the Fastest Swimsuit Ever Made

Would this work with Air? For Windmill blades, and aircraft propellers and wings?

  • Energy storage is a big deal. Can we store compress air underground generated from a windmill or solar (sterling cycle) and then have generators that convert this compressed air in to power on demand?

WHITHER C/C++ IN THE AGE OF MULTIPROCESSING?

I hope nobody minds, but this came to me from in E-mail from:

The Embedded Newsletter is delivered to you free of charge from the staff of Embedded.com. To view the Embedded.com site , visit: http://newsletter.embedded.com/cgi-bin4/DM/y/hBTmz0HSUaV0FrY0NYs0EA

It seems very interesting.
I of course believe C and C++ will still be going strong in 50 years. I just love debugging machine generated code. NOT!

TECH FOCUS - WHITHER C/C++ IN THE AGE OF MULTIPROCESSING?
08-31-2009

After several weeks of debate over Michael Barr's recent column (Real Men Program in C) at the Embedded Forum, Dan Zak's reasoned response in "Poor reasons for rejecting C++" is a breath of fresh air. Although he is passionate in his columns on the applicability of C++ instead of C even for low level code, his main point in his most recent column is that it is necessary to use the tools appropriate to the problem.

But what is the right tool in more complex designs? Even major players such as Intel are uncertain. On the one hand Intel has been a major promoter of OpenMP, a parallel programming API extension to C. But Intel has also been much interested in Ct, an extension to C++ for parallel programming. And now Intel has acquired RapidMind, a software vendor with a commercial version of the Ct programming framework.
Which way to go, especially in embedded systems? To help you make up your mind we offer several articles on RapidMind's frame work including: "C++ Meets Multicore" and "High level programming model simplifies multicore design." We've also got articles on single chip coherent multiprocessing, multicore software design issues, customizing algorithms to utilize multicore hardware and the use of virtualization and visualization in multicore software development.
If Dan's reasoned defense of C++ is convincing, you might also want to read some of the other recent design articles on topics such as: C++ for the cautious embedded programmer, a survivor's guide to C++, MISRA C++ as an alternative to C and guidelines to using C++ instead of C in your embedded design. Good reading!

NVIDIA 3D Vision Glasses

NVIDIA 3D Vision brings true 3D graphics to games. A simple USB port connects the transmitter to your computer. Have a Blu-Ray drive on your new computer? The NVIDIA 3D Vision also comes with a DVI to HDMI cable so you can connect a DLP HDTV to the NVIDA graphics card in your computer and view HD movies on a much larger screen. If you have a stand-alone Blu-Ray player, don't worry! The NVIDIA 3D Vision can also connect directly to a DLP HDTV via the VESA Stereo Cable Port.

GOD and science

I fail to see where the disagreement between GOD and science lives.
or why there is even a perceived conflict.

The more science starts to act like a religion, close minded and holier then thou is where it begins to conflict with religion.

Science is supposed to be the study of the world, universe, creation, basically life the universe and everything.

If there is a GOD then it should be our duty to try to understand that GOD and how and what she/he/it created.

I really wasn't a believer until I started to study evolution and quantum physics.

Evolution is all encompassing and inescapable, It truly is the protection against killer robots and dooms day bio-weapons and pandemics.

It's so pervasive that we can't even recognize it's effects unless we are going out of our way to see it. Evolution is just as much a force of nature as gravity is, and it's understood about as well too.

Like classical physics, evolution is an emergent behavior based on even simpler and more fundamental principals found in nature.

I think there is something out there or something going on, that is leading someplace. It could be GOD or some sort of reverse causality where in the end we are going to become our own GOD if you will.
