The mobile one appears to still be stuck with Shannon's Limit which neither ECIP or any erasure or other methods we came up have that limit.Aryeh Friedmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11975191669845603053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36504670.post-7489182693419253572012-10-24T00:33:15.303-07:002012-10-24T00:33:15.303-07:00It appears people are reinventing ECIP for mobile ...It appears people are reinventing ECIP for mobile video streaming right now: http://www.technologyreview.com/news/429722/a-bandwidth-breakthrough/

(friggin ReCaptcha on this blog..)Henk Poleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07907677259674276676noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36504670.post-45640832101157995132012-10-24T00:31:34.447-07:002012-10-24T00:31:34.447-07:00It appears people are reinventing ECIP for mobile ...It appears people are reinventing ECIP for mobile video streaming right now: http://www.technologyreview.com/news/429722/a-bandwidth-breakthrough/Henk Poleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07907677259674276676noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36504670.post-73419950078533230062012-08-26T21:11:56.873-07:002012-08-26T21:11:56.873-07:00Just a note the only reason for not doing CGI'...Just a note the only reason for not doing CGI's is anything that has control flow variations in it may have a infinitely long run and thus are not suitable for a non-blocking I/O environmentAryeh Friedmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11975191669845603053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36504670.post-71699076844325521612008-03-20T11:09:00.000-07:002008-03-20T11:09:00.000-07:00Afterburner will server any "files" so flash would...Afterburner will server any "files" so flash would be fine, video clips, or anything that would work off an FTP server.

No CGI's and no scripts running on the server. So if a page is to be dynamic it will have to rely on Javascript and not the server.
Which is the way it really should be done anyhow. I find that there are very few limitations to that. But Ajax goes out the window. I would also want to know about flash content whether that is considered as static content.

Since you have made it open source is there any way anybody realizing Afterburner's potential, would make it work on Dynamic pages?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36504670.post-71048975424435545522007-12-14T05:33:00.000-08:002007-12-14T05:33:00.000-08:00I have had several large companies contact me afte...I have had several large companies contact me after having run AB for a while to consult on other things.

I am not sure how many people are running it to be honest. It really only makes sense for super high traffic sites that can have there HTML stripped down to nothing but static content. It was originally written for Motion Picture web sites that get slammed just as a movie comes out.John Sokolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17719400170309249969noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36504670.post-80969857836577815822007-12-14T00:11:00.000-08:002007-12-14T00:11:00.000-08:00Hi John.
